Upgrading denim outfits
Was gifted this distressed denim jacket and decided to make it truly mine. Will there another one exactly like this on the planet when I have finished? Can’t say.
Decided to crochet an Eye of Providence and expanding sunrays picture / woolly appliqué patch into the large denim back panel.
Each piece is crocheted individually, arranged, pinned and handsewn on the back. The eyeball is a very subtle pink which really allows the red wool of the veins to pop! It is a swollen and glassy Eye of Providence.

Side note; pattern development takes hours and to do that I lean on 10+ years of crocheting skills and knowledge. I love to create beautiful things out of wool and send them off into the world to be appreciated and admired. I have also had many wonderful experiences uniting something I have made, with the person I made it for. There has even been a few spooky circumstances where I have made something that perfectly matched, and fit, physically and spiritually, a person before I had ever met them. These events are deeply touching but unfortunately, like many artists, I struggle to find the time to make work around other jobs I do to pay the bills.
If you’ve been enjoying my style and have a little cash to throw behind an independent artist, there is a shop on Depop currently with a range of one-of-a-kind, psychedelic and bizarre amigurumi jewellery, appliqué patches, shaggy wool jackets and bralettes. If you’d like to offer even more support it’s possible to donate directly here. Have an idea for a collaboration or a commission? I’d love to hear from you.
