What I have been doing, January 2014

What have I been doing?

As an artist, nothing of great interest. No big news on the frontier of soft sculptural textiles for me. I recently made a rug out of the tshirt material I cut up, but it ended up being a circle shape, so, nothing that was noteworthy in its difficulty.  I had a little left over too, so I made a small bowl shape, which I now store my bobby pins in.

It was supposed to be a heart shape, but at some point, it lost its way and got weird, so I pulled it apart and started again.

You can chart the course it took pretty easily:

Still going ok…

Starting to meander…

Well, fuck.

Sometimes it is better to stick with what you know.

And that has been what is up with me of late, at least as an artist. As a person? So many other things, but that is a story for another day…
